At Global Containers Line, LLC, we are committed to full compliance with U.S. state and local tax laws. This policy explains how sales tax is calculated and applied to your shipping container purchase.
1. Tax Collection & Nexus
In accordance with U.S. law, we collect sales tax in states where we have a Sales Tax Nexus (a physical or economic business presence). This includes, but is not limited to, the State of Florida.
- Calculation: Sales tax is determined by the delivery address (the destination), not our dispatch location.
- Accuracy: We use automated tax calculation software to ensure that the correct state, county, and local district taxes are applied to your order.
2. Tax on Shipping & Handling
In compliance with individual state regulations, shipping and handling fees may be taxable in certain jurisdictions.
- If the state where your container is being delivered considers freight transport a taxable service, sales tax will be applied to the $300 flat-rate shipping fee as well as the product price.
3. Tax-Exempt Purchases (B2B)
If you are a tax-exempt organization (e.g., a non-profit, government agency, or a business purchasing for resale), you must provide a valid Sales Tax Exemption Certificate prior to purchase.
- Process: Please email your certificate to sales@globalcontainerslineltd.com along with your Order ID. Once verified, we will adjust your invoice to reflect the tax-exempt status.
4. Transparency at Checkout
- Before You Pay: The final sales tax amount is not hidden. It will be clearly calculated and displayed on the Checkout Page after you enter your shipping zip code but before you finalize your payment.
- No Estimated Taxes: The tax shown at checkout is the final amount. We do not use “estimated” tax figures that change after the transaction.
